Yo Gotti giving me a push this year... "Save da trap"

It's been over a year since with the help of Lavish Life Producer Management (also responsible for Ludacris' new hit "How Low") I placed a beat on Young Jeezy's "The Recession." It's hard to live down a song like that. I call it a "classic" not because of the beat per se but because of the mood and the message-- it definitely spoke (and continues to speak) to a lot of people. I wish I could have dedicated that track to my childhood friend who is now serving decades upon decades of prison time for a crime nobody could actually prove he committed. But the prison industry and discrimination in the justice system is an entirely different discussion.

Fast forward to about two weeks ago. As proud as I am of the gold plague, I view it as a push to move forward and trust my talent and drive. Naturally, I don't want that one song to be my only talking point.

Not so fast. I get a twitter message saying Yo Gotti recorded a song (not a verse, a whole song) to the beat. The beat, an unofficial instrumental with my tag on it, has now been reintroduced to fans. I take it as a good sign for 2010.
